Viva Brazil Festival 2019
About the festival:
A mix of traditional and contemporary Brazilian culture the Viva Brazil Festival’s objective is to spread culture and unite communities through dance, music, visual arts, food, and theater.
Celebrating it’s 4th year we will have performances featuring live music and Brazil’s finest dancers at the Rialto Theater-Loveland, Nomad Theater-Boulder, and Cleo Parker Robinson - Denver and a special Opening VIP Gala at Museo de las Americas.
The festival offers several Dance Master Classes for the community with our renowned guest performers.
Thai Rodrigues top passista and member of Ginga Tropical, dancer with Carlinhos de Jesus’ dance company and Portela Samba School;
Pablo Guerreiro, dancer, choreographer and educator, both from Rio de Janeiro;
Tania Santiago director of Aguas Dance Company and former choreographer of Olodun, a world renowned dance and percussion ensemble in Bahia;
Velly de Bahia He is the founder and president of House of Culture, an organization that celebrates life through the arts and raises resources for an orphanage in Salvador, Brazil. He is a unique performing phenomenon that will sweep you into his aura and make you feel inspired. Velly de Bahia is the music director leading over 8 percussionists, singers and musicians for our show;
Lorin Hansen, founder of Samba Fogo Dance Company, and 2x winner of the Female Malandro competition at the International Samba Congress in LA;
Luciana da Silva, founder of Axe Brazil Dance Company and ambassador of Brazilian culture in CO.
Proceeds of Viva Brazil Festival will benefit the construction of a soccer field for the children at the Fulni-O tribe of Aguas Belas in Pernambuco - Brazil.
